Verses 1 and 2 include the promise to compose the text and the exhortation to listen well. They both contain correlations to the three principal aspects of the path.
Analytical Meditation
Analytical or "checking" meditation involves thinking deeply about the Dharma and applying it to our own lives. It also involves checking the teaching to see if it is logically consistent, if it describes our experience, and if it is more realistic and beneficial than our usual way of thinking.
